Gradation, Liquid limit, plastic limit, Shear test for determination of angle of repose and cohesion, Safe bearing capacity calculations, Tri-axial shear test, Differential free swell, Plate load test, Standard penetration test, Cone penetration test, Vanes shear test, California bearing test, Compaction test, Optimum moisture content test, Maximum dry density test, Soil permeability test, Consolidation test.
Aggregates the inert materials which when bound together by cement will form concrete. So, the testing of aggregates play an important role in civil construction works. We do the following tests:
Quality size and grading of aggregates, abrasion test, specific Gravity, Apparent Specific gravity, Bulk density, Impact test, Water absorption test, Slump test, flakiness index, Elongation Test, Bulking of fine aggregates etc.
Dimensions and tolerance test, compressive test, water absorption test, efflorescence test etc.
Point load test, Brazilian test, Compression test, Tri-axial compression test, Appearance, strength, structure, hardness, toughness, heaviness, durability porosity and absorption, resistance to fire, dressing, seasoning etc.
For quality control of Portland cement, we do the testing works like sampling, chemical composition, fineness, consistency of cement, test for setting time, test for soundness, tensile strength, compressive test etc.
Quality of water in concreting is to be as good as we require it for drinking purpose. Hence its chemical contents, minerals & PH Value etc. For pollution purpose the tests are also being carried out for BOD, COD, TSS parameters and its category in A/B/C/D type.
CBR test in field and Laboratory are being carried out by this Lab; Testing of Road Materials conducted by the Lab as per M.O.S.T., IRC. Deflection of roads can be measured by using Benkelman Beam as per U.S. Bureau of Public Roads.
Bitumen content of the road material, Ductility, Marshall Stability test, Penetration test, Viscosity, Softening point, Water content, Flash point and fire point etc are being conducted by this laboratory.
All the Instruments used for the testing are as per I.S. Specification and are being calibrated by the authorized by the authorized calibrations centers such as National Testing House, Calcutta and are being calibrated for the valid time period.
Pressure gauges are calibrated by Regional Standard Reference Laboratory, Bhubaneswar.
Dial Gauge machineries are being calibrated by TUVCERT (ISO 9001), Tri-axial testing machine is calibrated by National Testing Laboratory, Calcutta & Weigh balance is calibrated by weigh India, Delhi. NDT Rebound Hammer is calibrated by the National Council for Cement and Building Materials, Ballabgarh.
